Benne Mangoes
Bangalore | India
______
A lasting memory of childhood vacations is that of helping our grandmothers make āchār. From selecting the right raw materials to carefully preparing the ingredients, from assembling the pickles to adding spices and then waiting for the pickle to be finally ready. Those big ceramic jars filled to the brim with fresh pickles sitting under the sun on terraces evoke memories of carefree holidays! No meal is complete without a spoonful of the sweet, sour, spicy and mouthwatering Indian pickle.
I present to you, the branding of the homemade pickle, chutney, jam and murabba!
This project was a personal branding project done for the 'Benne Family' who hail from Bangalore. The design reflects a story and an experience. It is a representation of the farm from where the mangoes are from. From the beautiful singing birds, the tiny ants and bees to the magnificent mango trees with the many ripe colours of the mangoes dangling from the trees, the design reflects the experiences from the farm- both visual and auditory. The design also shows the 2 types - the spicy ones being ‘pickle’ and ‘chutney’ which were made out of the raw mangoes and the sweeter ones being ‘jam’ and ‘murabba’ which were made out of the ripe mangoes.
Enjoy!
